Children of 10, 11 and 12 years of age were appearing before the juvenile court judge on charges of vagrancy or petty theft.

During that first winter the clubhouse schedule was an extremely busy one. Big Sister Committees held their luncheon or tea meetings there, and at the close of the day girls came from school or jobs or home to participate in the programme offered.
