These three visually impaired persons are experts in the use of the application, the instructions given (with more than 100 km hiking with the application in different kinds of grounds) and the use of the white cane for the hiking. None of the subjects had walked this hiking trail before. As, the hiking tests were done during the night, the first partially blind person (1st subject) still had residual vision during the night, the 2nd subject (partially blind person as well) had full night blindness and the 3rd subject is a fully blind person.

Kobayashi Summary and Future Plan To solve the needs of blind bowling players, a ball detection function for the automatic support system is developed using a depth sensor and evaluate it in a real bowling alley by a blind player. Based on the evaluation by a blind bowling player, it can be shown that the function works basically well, although there is still potential to improve its stability. As a future plan, the software should be improved not to miss the ball and a more useful function should be implemented based on the comments by blind bowling players.

Some problems still occurred with too many simultaneous connections (more than 20). A possible solution for this would be to change to the BLE advertisement mode. This would mitigate overload on the server side and might be worth considering in upcoming versions of the software. Acknowledgements.
